Those completing the course entitled “Plan, Conduct and Review a Marriage Ceremony” will be awarded a “Statement of Attainment”, which is recognised by the Federal Attorney-General’s Department, and is a pre-requisite to applying to become an authorised marriage celebrant.

Other criteria include that you be deemed a “fit and proper person”, and that you are not in a business where there could be seen to be a conflict of interest with your celebrancy services.

Satisfactory completion of this course not only satisfies one of the criteria required for authorisation as a marriage celebrant, it gives a comprehensive basis on which to build a successful celebrancy enterprise.

This Funeral Celebrancy Course is available by distance education (correspondence) by way of a Participant Guide and Manual.
The name of the course is "Perform General Funeral Celebrancy" and is designed for the funeral performed by a Civil Celebrant as opposed to a Religious Celebrant, although it contains a great deal of information that is common to both styles of ceremony.
